So, on May 12th I decided to take on a challenge that a couple of people in my family have recently decided to do. Basically the challenge is to "create" something every day for 1 year. For example, my mother is making a card every day for 1 year, and so far they are
AMAZING. My aunt Susan has created a wonderful daily dose of
Happy Thoughts. I decided that I would paint, every day for one year. Now, I won't be finishing a painting every day, but I will be working on a painting for a minimum of 1 hour every day for 365 days! So far, I have only worked in watercolor, but as time goes on I am sure I will dabble in some oils and acrylics or a combination of the three.
Here are a few pictures of my progress so far....
This is a little painting for Amelia's baby!
While this flower painting is taking more time than I anticipated, I am enjoying just taking my time and I am pretty happy with how it is turning out so far. Stay tuned throughout the year for more progress updates!

I just can't tell you how amazing those new flowers look....I still can't believe it is all just watercolor. I am so impressed.
And hooray for taking on the daily challenge and sticking to it!! :)
Oh, and I love the hippo painting :D
Amanda, like I told you last week, your water colors are incredible - please paint anything you want and I will buy it from you! You're so talented and I didn't even know!
HOORAY! I had no idea you were painting as a result of my little challenge (you and your mom both picked much harder things than I did, so you get my double admiration). I am absolutely delighted and I hope you'll keep posting your progress as you go along. I can't wait to see what comes out of your brush, and out of your year! xo
Your paintings are fabulous! I'm so impressed! Perhaps someday you might consider creating something for our new house??
